Types of Plants

Plants that have weak stem are called plants. Others with strong stem are Trees.

Plants can be further classified into
- Climbers : They have weak and soft stem. They need support to stand straight and grow.
Some examples are Money plant, Bean plant and Pea plant

- Creepers : They have soft green stem and grow on the ground
Eg: Pumpkin, Watermelon, Musk Melon

- Herbs : They are very small plants with soft green color stem. Their leaves, seeds and flowers are used for cooking, medicines and perfumes.
Eg: Mint, Coriander, Basil

- Shrubs : They have many branches and grow near to the ground. Their stems are woody and thin.
Eg: Rose, Cotton

- Wild Plants: They grow naturally for many years. They do not need special care.
Eg: Grass, Periwinkle plant

- Weeds : Unwanted plants that grow any where. They can grow anywhere in pots, gardens and farms. They grow very fast and take the place of the main plant.
Eg: Poison Ivy, Dandelion

- Water plants : They grow in water and their stem remains underwater.
Eg: Lotus, Hydrilla
